This mug is a functional sculpture, inspired by the beautiful geodes and crystal formations found in nature. Glazed in contrasting textures, I threw this mug on the wheel and applied my hand carved crystals and accented it in 22k gold. I hand glazed the gray area on this mug in matte to represent the rough exterior of the geode. 

Holds approximately 12-14 oz. One of a kind.
