This mug is a functional sculpture, inspired by magnificent geodes found in nature.  I threw this mug on the wheel, indented the surface and applied the hand carved geodes one by one. I then hand painted the surface with undulating shapes in hues of purple, fired it in the kiln and accented it in 22k gold. Holds approximately 14oz. One of a kind.
